2015-11-13 | Arena México | Rush b La Sombra * *
17:49. Rush took 2/3. Both men largely wrestled clean, though Sombra tried to cheat near the end. Fans did not support either man. Sombra escaped the corner driver by getting a hand on the ropes. Rush kicked out of the double knee smash, then reversals led to the Rush driver. Both mean talked about how great the other was and they left still as friends. |
excellent |
2015-11-06 | Arena México | Místico & Rush b La Sombra & Volador Jr. * *
10:44. Mistico switched places with La Mascara on Thursday. Team Mistico & Rush took falls 2/3. Volador & Sombra did not get along, while Rush & Mistico had no problem. Volador was knocked down on the floor late and Sombra threw Mistico into the crowd. Rush & Sombra were left with no choice to fight. Rush tried to walk away, but Sombra cradled him from behind for two and it was on from there. Rush nearly got the corner dropkick and the referee nearly got taken once before being dropped moments later. Rush fouled Sombra, but the referee took a while to recover. When he did, Sombra did the same to Rush and that was called for the DQ. Volador carried Mistico back to the ramp, only to throw a drink in his face and chase him off. Sombra and Rush talked, both declaring how they were the best two luchadors and they should fight to see who's the best. They agreed next week, while also talking each other up and hugging at the end. |

2015-10-30 | Arena México | Volador Jr. © b La Sombra [NWA WELTER] * *
5th defense. Volador & Sombra played the gods of paradise and hell thru the night. Sombra took the first, then lost the second when second Rush interfered repeatedly. Rush (and Valiente) were ejected. Volador won clean with the Guillotine Deprepedador (new name for Volador Spiral out of the corner) to win. Sombra tried to say he respected Volador after the match, but was stopped by Rush & La Mascara, who beat up Volador instead. Rush reminded the crowd and Sombra that the Ingobernables respected no one, and he and Sombra went face to face over it. La Mascara calmed them down and they did a first pound. Rush took the belt from Volador and tried to give it to Sombra, but Sombra didn't want it and walked off. |
great |
2015-09-18 | Arena México | Atlantis b La Sombra [mask] * *
Atlantis won Sombras mask, taking the first fall by DQ when Rush interfered, and the last by Atlantida. Sombra is Manuel Alfonso Andrade Oropez, 25 years old, from Gomez Palacio. |

2015-08-28 | Arena México | Dr. Wagner Jr., La Sombra, Rush b Atlantis, LA Park, Volador Jr. * *
Chaos all the way thru, with Rush vs Park and Atlantis vs Sombra pushed. Team Sombra took falls 2/3, the last with a Sombra mask pull on Atlantis and a Wagner foul and Wagner Driver on Park. |
great |
2015-08-03 | Arena Puebla | Volador Jr. b La Sombra * *
Volador took falls 2/3 in the usual fashion: two short falls, and one long one with just about every move possible. Volador Spiral #1 finally got the win. |
great |
2015-07-17 | Arena México | La Sombra, Marco Corleone, Rush b Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Volador Jr. * *
15:00. Ingobernables took 2/3, Sombra fouling Volador after earlier fouling Atlantis (and Rush getting away with unmasking Diamante Azul.) Ingobernables worked as complete rudos. Volador & Diamante Azul challenged Sombra & Rush to lucha de apuestas. Sombra responded without directly answering. |

great |
2015-02-06 | Arena México | Negro Casas & Shocker © b La Máscara & La Sombra [CMLL TAG] * *
Champions took 2/3 to keep the titles. In the third, Shocker beat Mascara, Mascara snuck back in to foul Shocker for Sombra to beat, Sombra fouled Casas, but Casas pulled Sombra's mask and cradled him for the win. Shocker & Casas fourth defense. |
great |
2015-01-19 | Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan | La Sombra b Máscara Dorada
18:23. Mascara Dorada was announced as joining NJPW on a one year contract prior to the match. Not the crazy spot exhibition of last year's match, but one of of big spots building towards a finish. Sombra seemed off and hampered by leg issues, but it was still a great match. Dorada pulled off the over the top rope apron headscissors (the successor to the over the top dropkick Dragon Lee has been doing.) Sombra had mild interaction with guest announcer Yuji Nagata and a match between the two was teased. Sombra was able to sidestep a springboard flip tornillo attempt and beat Dorada with a Shadow Driver. Sombra thanked the fans and left, while Dorada stuck around to take part in the usual tour ending celebration. (Mr. Niebla was not seen.) |
great |
2014-10-06 | Arena Puebla | Volador Jr. © b La Sombra [NWA WELTER] *

great |
2014-03-28 | Arena México | Volador Jr. b La Sombra * *
Volador took falls 1/3. CMLL recap notes Sombra worked as a rudo. After the win, Sombra declared he never wanted to team with Sombra but instead needed to avenge his mask loss. If mask versus hair won't get it done, Volador offered to put his career on the line. |
great |
2014-03-02 | Arena Coliseo | La Sombra © b Dragón Rojo Jr. [NWA MIDDLE] * *
La Sombra came in as champion. 3rd defense, six months since the last one. Dragon Rojo was the previous champion, getting his first rematch. Sombra won a first fall with a double moonsault, Dragon Rojo won the second with the Dragon Bomb, both really quick. Third fall was epic, both man surviving big moves time and time until Sombra finally won with a final Shadow Bomb (Brillante Driver.) |
excellent |
2013-09-13 | Arena México | La Sombra b Volador Jr. [mask] * * *
Sombra took falls 2/3, the last a long fall won via super Canadian Destroyer. Crowd chanted Fraude during the first two falls, but eventually supported Volador and went back to being unhappy after he lost. Volador Jr. was announced as Ramon Ibarra Rivera, 32 years old, 17 years a luchador. |
excellent |
2013-08-16 | Arena México | Volador Jr. b La Sombra [super libre] *
Volador Jr. wore a Blue Panther inspired mask. Volador won the first with a back cracker. He tried to martinete Sombra in the second, but Tirantes broke it up and called a DQ. Volador grabbed the microphone, pointed out it was a super libre match (so there should be no DQs) and wanted Tirantes to get lost. Volador took fall 3 with the Guillotina Voladora for the win. |
great |
2013-06-28 | Arena México | La Sombra b Volador Jr. [IWGP IC] *
Mistico and Averno were seconds. Volador had a Superman outfit on. Sombra took the first fall with a Dragonrana, Volador Jr. tied it up with a Spanish Fly in the second, and both guys kicked out everything in the third. Volador finally fouled Sombra, pulled his mask, and covered. Referee Rafael el Maya counted three, then awarded the match to Sombra by disqualification. Usual challenges followed between these two after the match and fought a bit more. La Sombra made his first defense. |
excellent |
2013-05-31 | Arena México | La Sombra b Shinsuke Nakamura [IWGP IC] *
Seconds were Mistico & Namajague (Okumura & Mima along with for the entrance.) Nakamura took fall one, Sombra tied it up in the second fall, then completed the upset and championship win by taking fall 3. Nakamura falls on his ninth defense. Sombra is 4th champion. |

2013-02-01 | Arena México | La Sombra b La Máscara, Titán, Hijo del Fantasma, Rey Cometa, Delta, Stuka Jr., Sagrado, Averno, Euforia, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mr. Águila, Pólvora, Namajague, Felino, Tiger [Reyes del Aire, semifinal] *
Eliminations went Sagrado (by Tiger, 7:15), Stuka (by Namajague, 10:20), Tiger (by Titan, 11:44), Namajague (by Rey Cometa, 13:00), by Hijo del Fantasma (by Polvora, 13:58), Felino (by La Mascara, 14:29), Rey Cometa (by Euforia, 15:40), Delta (by Dragon Rojo, 17:00), Mr. Aguila (by La Sombra, 20:28), Polvora (by Titan, 24:16), Euforia (by La Mascara, 25:44), Titan (by Averno, 27:00), La Mascara & Dragon Rojo drew on a DDQ (30:44) and Sombra beat Averno in 37:12. Sombra faces next week's winner. |
great |
2012-12-14 | Arena México | La Sombra b Tama Tonga [Copa Jr., final] *
Rush and Terrible were seconds. Tama took the first in 4:31 with a top rope tornillo, previously unseen from him. Sombra won the second with in 7:59 a suplex. Sombra took the third (9:52, 17:51 total) with what came across on radio as another botched ref count - the ref counting three when Tama kicked out (and the match was not intended to be over.) |
great |
2012-10-16 | Arena México | La Sombra b Volador Jr. *
Sombra took the first with a 'rana, Volador won the second with a Spanish Fly in much quicker falls than last week's 10 minute time limit. Volador bumped in to Tirantes in the third, Sombra pulled his mask, gave Volador a backcracker, and pinned him for the win. Sombra laughed about learning Volador's tricks, which Volador took as an admission that he was the better man and asked for a mask vs mask match. Sombra offered to do that match right now, one fall to settle it. Volador accepted it, but again the commissioner said they could not do that on such sudden notice. He did say they could do it next week, but just got booed. |
excellent |
2012-09-14 | Arena México | Ángel de Oro, La Sombra, Titán b Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Taichi *
Tecnicos took 1/3, Sombra beating Taichi in the third fall. |
great |
2012-08-12 | Arena Coliseo | La Sombra b Averno *
Said to be a very good match. Averno attacked Sombra, ripped up his pants, gave him a Devil's Wings on the floor, and then another in the ring to win the first fall. Averno controlled the second fall, but Sombra came back, landed a tope, and won the fill with the Brillante Bomb. Third fall had a lot of near falls, including Averno reversing the Brillante Bomb (first one?) into a small package. Planned finish appeared to be a top rope headscissors, but they slipped and Sombra lost Averno. Averno still feel, hitting the mat face first. Both were down for a bit, before getting up and finishing with Sombra's elevated German suplex. Post match challenges included Sombra asking for the mask vs hair match, and Averno offering it - if Sombra could beat him again. |
great |
2012-04-24 | Arena México | Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., La Sombra *
Rudos took 1/3. |
great |
2012-02-13 | Arena Puebla | Negro Casas b La Sombra © [NWA WELTER] *
Negro Casas is the new champion, taking falls 2/3, winning by meeting Sombra's moonsault with feet for the third straight week. Tirantes was ref, and Negro had both Cancerbero & Zacarias as seconds (Sombra had Maximo), and it's possible there may have been interference. |
great |
2012-01-22 | Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan | La Sombra © b Volador Jr. [NWA WELTER] *
1 fall match. Sombra retained his title in 21:47. |
excellent |
2012-01-13 | Arena México | La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada b Mr. Águila, Psicosis, Volador Jr. *
Also said to be outstanding, with money being thrown in the ring. Mije was with the Invasors, either because he's now going to be accompanying all of them or just because Monito happened to be with the tecnicos. Dorada wore the Lyger half mask from the Toyko Dome to the ring, while Mr. Aguila painted up half his face like the Volador Venom mask. Tecnicos took the match. Again, pictures seem to show the rudos taking 1, and tecnicos 2/3, but not confirmed. Mascara got Volador with the campana after a lot of chaos for the win. |
